1961 Lotus Seven Series 2
Finished in Green and Yellow with Red trim.
Originally fitted with a BMC engine and gearbox, these were replaced with a 1558cc Ford Cosworth specification pre-Xflow engine and Ford Rocket gearbox when the car was restored in the late 1980's. The car was also fitted with a Ford rear axle replacing the weak Standard 10 type.
The car has had two further caring owners since it was restored, including myself for 7 years prior to its current owner.
The car is in good condition and mechanically superb. The engine runs well and gives good, tractable power. This is a great drivers car, it handles well, is very quick and extremely usable.
Paperwork includes a multitude of invoices from the restoration together with invoices reflecting continuing maintenance and improvements in the hands of the following owners.
The original, very rusty chassis, BMC engine and gearbox are available with the car as proof of it's provenance.
